Parque Ñu Guasu
The big green lung between Asunción and the airport, with a 5 km loop for walking and running.
What it is
Some 65 hectares of open green space, free for everyone, between Asunción, Luque and the airport. Its 5,000-meter loop is a favorite with runners and walkers at dawn and late afternoon; there's also a 1,200 m internal bike lane, sports courts, playgrounds, exercise stations, an amphitheater and Plaza Taiwán, an Asian-style corner. It's a great place to watch everyday life in Greater Asunción: families, athletes and circles of friends sharing tereré (Paraguay's iced yerba mate) in the shade.
