It was built between 1961 and 1969 and has four turbines and 210 megawatts of power, supplying about 8% of national electricity demand according to Wikipedia. The reservoir holds 300 hm³. The concrete structure is just over 30 metres high. It predates Itaipú and Yacyretá.
