What it is

Parque Lineal Itaipú is a 48-hectare green space in Area 1 of Ciudad del Este. It joins three neighbouring parks: Manuel Ortiz Guerrero, José Asunción Flores and Salto del Guairá. It is part of Itaipú's tourism complex and designed for the whole family. It offers paths for walking, running or cycling, rest areas, lookouts and vegetation with century-old trees. Entry is free: you need to show your national ID or, if you are a foreigner, your passport, and registration is handled by the staff of Itaipú's Tourism Advisory Office.

For the 2023 winter schedule Itaipú published: 6:00 am to 8:00 pm daily (in 2021 it was 8:00 am to 9:00 pm); it changes with the season, so check before you go.

Best time: Morning or afternoon; avoid summer midday.
