Juan Carlos Moreno González
Classical composer, author of 'Kuarahy mimby' and creator of the Paraguayan zarzuela.
What it is
Juan Carlos Moreno González (Asunción, 1911 – 1983) studied in São Paulo on a scholarship between 1938 and 1940. His style is classical-romantic, influenced by Beethoven, and he also wrote works on Indigenous and folk themes, such as the symphonic poem 'Kuarahy mimby' (1944). With writer Manuel Frutos Pane he created the Paraguayan zarzuela. From 1964 he directed the Municipal Conservatory of Music and served as Director of Culture of the Municipality of Asunción.
