Salto Amambay is on the Piribebuy–Itacurubí de la Cordillera road, in the Piribebuy district. The Cordillera department article lists it among the area's waterfalls of great natural beauty, together with Piraretã and Siete Caídas, and the Ytú and Yhaguy Guazú streams. It is a simple nature stop for those who already know Piraretã and want to add another waterfall to the Piribebuy circuit.
