What it is

Cerro Cristo Rey is an elevation of about 300 metres above sea level in the municipality of Caacupé, at km 55 of Route 2 Mariscal Estigarribia. It belongs to the Cordillera de los Altos orographic system, and from its heights you can see the surrounding ranges. The Cordillera department article lists it, together with Cavajhu and Caacupé, among the ideal places for climbing, and describes it as declared an educational ecological reserve.
