Monumento a María Auxiliadora
A 24 m statue next to the Salesian school, described as the largest image in the country.
What it is
The María Auxiliadora Shrine stands to the right of Concepción's Salesian School. Its image, on a 24-metre structure, is presented as the largest in the whole country and can be seen from several points in the city. It is a site of devotion and also a good urban lookout for photos at dusk. According to SENATUR it can be visited daily, over long daytime and evening hours. According to ABC Color, the monument was erected in 2002, built by local artists, and is presented as the largest image of the Virgin in South America (a press claim, with no official measurement); at its foot there is a viewing platform reached by a few steps.
