Cerro Memby
A 325 m hill east of Yby Yaú, in the San Luis hills; a trail and summit in the historic territory of the Paĩ Tavyterã.
What it is
Cerro Memby is about 12 km east of the urban centre of Yby Yaú according to Wikipedia (SENATUR says about 8 km), and rises 325 metres above sea level. It belongs to the San Luis hills and can be seen from Route 5, which links Concepción with Pedro Juan Caballero. According to SENATUR it is a great place for hiking. At its foot there is a rural settlement of the same name. The hill is also one of the landmarks around the traditional territory of the Paĩ Tavyterã people, together with Cerro Guazú, so it is best explored with respect for the local communities.
