What it is
'Juana de Lara' is considered the first Paraguayan opera, and its composer, Florentín Giménez, also wrote six symphonies, symphonic poems and concertos. Giménez also wrote 'Así canta mi patria' and directed the National Conservatory of Music and the National Symphony Orchestra. It premiered in 1987.
