What it is
'Galopera' is a composition by Mauricio Cardozo Ocampo, a central figure of Paraguayan music's 'golden generation'. According to his biography, it ranks among the three most widely circulated works in the entire history of Paraguayan music. Its lively rhythm evokes the galopa dance, in which dancers balance jugs or bottles on their heads.
