What it is

The Cathedral of San Blas is in downtown Ciudad del Este and was completed in 1964. It has a singular European-style design that, according to SENATUR, evokes the shape of a ship, and is decorated with carefully crafted stone sculptures. It is one of the city's most notable religious and cultural points of interest: a calm spot a few metres from the shopping centres and the commercial bustle of the border.
