Museo de Arte Sacro (Fundación Nicolás Darío Latourrette Bo)
17th- and 18th-century Hispano-Guaraní Baroque carvings in an elegant early-20th-century mansion.
What it is
In Villa Lina, an eclectic mansion from the early 1900s, six themed rooms display a selection from one of the most important private collections of Hispano-Guaraní sacred art: saints, Virgins and Christ figures carved in wood and painted by Guaraní and European artists in the missions and colonial towns. The blend of Indigenous and European features in many of the figures is striking. The museum also has an auditorium, a café, a shop and a terrace that hosts concerts and plays.

Did you know…?
It displays a "Repentant Saint Peter" attributed to Jesuit brother José Brasanelli, one of the great sculptors of the missions.
Among its curiosities is a white marble bathtub that belonged to Madame Lynch, partner of Marshal Francisco Solano López.
It holds a Bicentennial time capsule, sealed on May 14, 2011, to be opened in 2111.
History
It was created by the foundation of collector Nicolás Darío Latourrette Bo, who gathered more than 700 pieces of 17th- and 18th-century Hispano-Guaraní Baroque sacred art. It was inaugurated on March 24, 2010, and opened to the public three days later in the Villa Lina mansion.

- Limited hours: according to SENATUR it opens Fridays and Saturdays from 9:00 to 18:00; confirm before you go.
- Combine it with the Iglesia de la Encarnación and the Museo de las Memorias.
