Night of Museums
Museums and historic sites open for free at night: the best excuse to explore downtown Asunción in a different light.
What it is
For one night in November, museums, historic sites and heritage spaces open late and free of charge, in Asunción and elsewhere in the country. There are guided tours, music and special activities. In the historic center you can walk from the Casa de la Independencia to the Cabildo, the Pantheon of Heroes and several private museums, with the old town lit up and an atmosphere very different from the daytime.
What to see and do
- Free after-dark museum entry
- Walking routes through the historic center
- Music and special activities at each venue
Tips
Plan your route with the official map published a few days before. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water: November is already hot. Some venues have lines; get to the most popular ones early.
Dates may shift to the nearest weekend.
