Caazapá
Caazapá, the departmental capital, preserves its Franciscan heritage like few other towns: the Church of San Pablo holds a colonial altarpiece carved by Indigenous craftsmen, and in the cemetery stands the 18th-century San Roque chapel, with adobe walls and a roof of tacuara bamboo and clay tiles. The Fray Juan Bernardo Museum traces local history from the town's founding. A kilometer from the center, the Ykua Bolaños spring bubbles up, steeped in legend, and every January it becomes the stage for one of the country's most popular music festivals.
Festivals
