What it is
The Hernandarias waterfront is an outdoor space designed for sport, recreation and family outings. It has a 2,100-metre bike path, pedestrian paths, a children's playground, exercise equipment, a 500 m² covered rest area, toilets, changing rooms and parking. Right there is Tacurú Pucú Park, managed by Itaipú with the municipality, with sand courts, an events square and spaces for mate and tereré. Tacurú Pucú Beach, on the shore of Lake Itaipú, is 450 metres long and 80 wide and has been rehabilitated, with sports and recreational activities throughout the season, not only in summer.

History
SENATUR indicates the park opened in 2018 and that the waterfront's first stage was opened more recently.
Tips
- Opening hours change with the season: check with Itaipú or the town hall before you go.
- You are asked for an ID card or passport at the entrance.
- If you go in summer, bring sunscreen and check whether the beach is open for swimming.
For the 2023 winter schedule Itaipú published: promenade 6:00 am to 8:00 pm daily and beach 10:00 am to 8:00 pm Thursday to Sunday; it changes with the season (in 2021 it was 8:00 am to 9:00 pm). Check before you go.
Best time: Year-round; November to March for swimming.
