What it is
Andrés Campos Cervera, who signed his ceramics as Julián de la Herrería, was born in Asunción. He studied art in Madrid, Rome, Florence and Paris and learned ceramics in Manises (Valencia). He pioneered art ceramics in Paraguay and is considered the founder of a school of ceramists. His works are in Asunción's Museo de Bellas Artes and in museums in Madrid and Valencia, among others. He was the husband of Josefina Plá, who later kept his work in a private museum.
