Pro Rock Ensamble
A pioneering Paraguayan rock band: it recorded the country's first rock LP.
What it is
Pro Rock Ensamble formed in Asunción in early 1980. Late that year it debuted with a single. In 1982 it opened a concert for Argentine acts, and the success encouraged an LP. 'Música para los perros', recorded at a studio in Asunción, was launched with a concert on 23 November 1983 and has nine songs. It is regarded as the first full-length rock album in Paraguay's history.

Earlier there were discs by Paraguayan groups recorded abroad, but this was the first rock LP produced in the country.
