A crossroads where Route PY04 branches off toward Pilar, San Ignacio is the gateway to the Jesuit circuit of Misiones. Its Diocesan Museum of Jesuit Art brings together some 30 polychrome wooden sculptures carved by Guaraní artisans, spread across four rooms: The Creation, The Redemption, Christ in the Church and the Society of Jesus. It is a living museum, which also hosts painting, singing and woodcarving classes. The town makes a good base for Santa María de Fe, Santa Rosa, Santiago and, during Holy Week, Tañarandy.
