Access
Route PY12 (Vicepresidente Sánchez) crosses the area between km 218 and 360. Almost all of the land is private estancias, so you need permission to enter. In the rainy season the dirt roads become impassable. It was a national park from 1966 and became a managed resource reserve in 2016.
