A city museum in a house from around 1750, with a model of the historic center, Guaraní pieces and folk art.
What it is
It operates in Casa Viola, one of the oldest buildings in Asunción, part of the Manzana de la Rivera City Cultural Center. The first room shows construction and ornamental elements from the 18th to 20th centuries, such as the door of the old Club Nacional. The main hall holds a 1990s model of the Historic Center. Also on display are Guaraní objects, colonial Franciscan niches, a painting of the Mercado Guasu by Ignacio Núñez Soler and clay figurines by Serafín Marsal.
