National Immigrant Festival (Coronel Bogado)
The communities that settled Coronel Bogado show off their dances, costumes and food at a festival of integration.
What it is
Coronel Bogado, in southern Itapúa, was built by immigrants of many origins, especially Slavic ones. Its National Immigrant Festival, which reached its 18th edition in 2026, brings together these communities with dances, traditional costumes, music, heritage food and a shared lunch. It’s a local-scale event of about two thousand people, warm and easy to get around. Not to be confused with the festival of the same name in Oberá, Argentina, held in September.
What to see and do
- Slavic and other immigrant community dances
- Traditional immigrant dishes
- Chipa from the national chipa capital
