What it is

Ybycuí, about 120 km from Asunción, is known as a festive town, and the Musiqueada Mangoguýpe is one of its best-loved gatherings: a day of Paraguayan music outdoors, under old trees, on a town venue. It is organized by Ybycuí's Cultural Commission and brings together national and regional artists, harpists, singers, dance groups and comedy acts, plus tributes to local figures. According to press reports, visitors arrive from many departments to enjoy a folk programme with typical food and crafts. Combine it with a visit to nearby Ybycuí National Park.
