What it is

Ayolas celebrates its founding anniversary with a festival named after the arary, a native tree of the area (Calophyllum brasiliense). It is organized by the municipality, with support from the provincial government and, in some editions, the Yacyretá Binational Entity, and takes place during the town's expo-fair with free entry. The stage alternates ballets from different districts, folk music groups and guest artists; in 2019 there was also an intercultural gala with ballets from the Ukrainian community and senior citizens' dance groups, and in 2022 the programme included an international rodeo with horse-breaking, comedians and chamamé. If you are travelling through the south, it is a good chance to get to know a town tied to the dam and the Paraná River.

What to see and do

  • Ballets and folk groups from several districts
  • Intercultural gala with immigrant communities
  • International rodeo with horse-breaking (2022)
