Yataity
Yataity is a small, peaceful village where ao po'i — the light, hand-embroidered cotton cloth that is Paraguay's signature textile — is both craft and livelihood. Some 2,200 people work in its production chain, from spinning to the fine embroidery of shirts, guayaberas, dresses and tablecloths. You can buy straight from family workshops or at the weekend craft fair at the town hall. The new Authentic Ao Po'i Circuit offers hands-on experiences: spinning, loom weaving and embroidering alongside master artisans, plus visits to organic cotton fields.
