Lambaré

Lambaré is almost another Asunción neighborhood, but with an identity all its own. Its name and the statue in front of the town hall recall Chief (Cacique) Lambaré, a figure of Guarani resistance against the conquistadors whose actual existence historians still debate. On the border with the capital rises Cerro Lambaré (156 m), which belongs to Asunción, with its hilltop monument and river views. On the banks of the Paraguay River stands the Yacht y Golf Club Paraguayo, a resort with a private beach.
