What it is

In La Victoria, the historic district of Puerto Casado, the church of San Ramón Nonato was built during the tannin-industry era. Its architectural model was brought from Europe, and inside there are wooden carved images, some life-size and brought from Italy. The bells also came from Europe and are said to be the largest in Paraguay; pencil inscriptions left by Chaco War soldiers can still be read.
