Costanera y playa de Salto del Guairá
A waterfront of over 3 km and 30 ha on Itaipú lake, with a beach, bike lane, playground and water sports.
What it is
The Salto del Guairá waterfront is an illuminated four-lane avenue over 3 kilometres long, covering about 30 hectares on the shore of Itaipú lake. It includes walking paths, a bike lane, parking, facilities for water sports and a children's playground. La Nación describes it as the country's largest beach and waterfront, with a forest area preserved and equipped with raised walkways for strolling in contact with nature. It is the best place in town to watch the sunset over the water and to remember that under that lake, since 1982, lie the old Guairá Falls.
