Cerro Yaguarón
A hill of about 250 m with a free viewpoint at the top, footprints attributed to Saint Thomas and local legends.
What it is
Cerro Yaguarón rises beside the town of the same name, in Paraguarí department, and belongs to the Ybytypanemá range. Wikipedia gives it 256 m above sea level and describes it more as a mound than a big peak. At the top there is a freely accessible viewpoint with a panoramic view of the town. The hill is surrounded by tales: stepping on the footprint of Saint Thomas is believed to bring good luck, and its legend mixes with that of Kerana's tears. There are also stories of apparitions. Its steep slope and tall trees make it attractive for a short walk.

Did you know…?
A local belief says that whoever steps on the footprint of Saint Thomas will have great luck.

History
