Caaguazú, a farming and forestry department in the center of the country, hosts one of the final rounds of the National Rally Championship before the Transchaco. The cars race on dirt roads through fields, woodlands and farming colonies, with fans following the action from designated points. September is usually dry, with dusty stages and still-pleasant temperatures, and much of the championship is decided here.
