Eusebio Ayala National Chipa Festival
Chipas from the historic bakeries of Barrero Grande, music contests and dancing in the town square.
What it is
Eusebio Ayala, formerly Barrero Grande, is the essential chipa stop on Route PY02. Its national festival, born some four decades ago and revived in a new era that reached its 16th edition in 2026, brings together the town’s traditional chipa bakeries, a small-business fair and a music contest that awards the Chipá Argolla de Oro (Golden Chipa Ring). In 2026 it paid tribute to the singer Luis Alberto del Paraná and to a legendary local chipa baker. Entry is free and the atmosphere is pure small-town celebration, with families, musicians and artisans.
