Festival del Cántaro y la Miel
Ten free nights of music, dance and comedy beside Itá's lagoon, with a crafts fair and street food.
What it is
Itá calls itself the town of the pitcher and the honey: the pottery that Franciscan friars taught local women in colonial times and the honey that went with country life. Every summer the municipality stages this festival at the Don Prisciliano Villalba amphitheatre, beside the lagoon, during the ten days leading up to the feast of San Blas, the town's patron saint, on 3 February. Each night brings Paraguayan music groups, ballet companies, comedians and local performers, always with free admission; around the stage you will find a food fair, craft stalls and rides for children. The 2026 edition announced more than 40 artists, and the festival was declared of regional interest by Mercosur in 2019.
