Tobatí Kambuchi (Pottery) Expo
Ñai’ũ clay pottery, woodcarving and karanda’y palm weaving, straight from the hands of Tobatí’s artisan families.
What it is
A kambuchi is a clay water jar, and Tobatí is one of Paraguay’s great pottery centers. The expo gathers around forty artisans: thirty work in ñai’ũ (local clay) pottery and the rest in woodcarving and karanda’y (palm-fiber) weaving. It takes place on a farm in the 21 de Julio community, and each edition pays tribute to the women artisans who keep the craft alive.
