Guairá Expo
Guairá’s big farming, livestock and industry fair, with shows for the whole family.
What it is
The Guairá Expo brings together the department’s producers, ranchers, merchants and industries in Mbocayaty, a few kilometers from Villarrica. There’s a livestock show, trade stands, live performers and a food court. In 2025 it projected more than 10 million dollars in business and over 40,000 visitors. Mbocayaty is also known for its encaje ju, a delicate needle lace you can buy in town.

Tips
Traffic gets congested in the area: set out early. Combine it with nearby Yataity (home of ao po’i embroidery) and Independencia.
