Indigenous Peoples' Day and Cultural Diversity Day

The official culture calendar (SICPy) lists 19 April as a date to recognize Indigenous peoples and the country's cultural diversity. Paraguay is home to 19 peoples from five language families. The date coincides with American Indigenous Day, which recalls the First Inter-American Indigenist Congress held in Mexico in 1940.
